When to call on a firm
A consulting firm steps in before or during a project: to review what already exists, define a strategy, choose a provider or manage a change of tools. For a security audit, it helps to specify the scope to be examined and the constraints of the business. Each firm's listing indicates its areas of work.
It examines the protection of information systems: access, backups, configurations, user practices. It results in a list of risks and measures to take. Its scope is defined with the firm before the assignment begins.
What is digital transformation?
It is the adaptation of a company's organization and tools to digital technology: paperless documents, new software, remote work, online services. The firms in the category help plan and carry it out.
Do these firms also develop software?
Some carry out custom development in addition to consulting. Companies for which it is the main business are listed under Web, Software & App Development; each firm's listing specifies what it offers.
