AS Monaco Aïkido

Associations & Cultural activities

Presentation

The Aikido section of the Association Sportive de Monaco embodies the spirit of traditional Japanese martial arts, combining technique, philosophy and educational values. Located in the heart of the Stade Louis-II, it provides practitioners with a structured, caring environment in which to discover or deepen a discipline that favours harmony and self-control over direct confrontation.

Open to all, ASM Aikido welcomes children, teenagers and adults, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Classes are taught by qualified and passionate instructors, who transmit the fundamental principles of aikido: mastery of movement, fluidity of techniques, coordination, respect for the partner and self-awareness. This progressive approach enables students to progress at their own pace, while developing confidence, serenity and discipline.

Aikido, a non-competitive martial art, is distinguished by its particular philosophy: to use the opponent's energy to divert it rather than to fight it. This vision, both technical and spiritual, contributes to the development of well-balanced practitioners, capable of applying the values of respect, self-control and harmony to everyday life.

ASM Aikido also plays an important educational role with young people. The youngest members discover the martial art through playful, adapted exercises that encourage motor skills, concentration and listening. As the years go by, practice provides them with a solid foundation for tackling life with rigor, confidence and respect for others.

The section is also involved in Monaco's associative and cultural life. It regularly organizes training courses, demonstrations and events to share the richness of aikido with a wider public. These events help to promote the discipline and strengthen ties between practitioners of all backgrounds.

Thanks to the dedication of its teachers and the loyalty of its members, ASM Aïkido has become a benchmark for the practice of this martial art in the Principality. It offers a unique space for transmission and self-fulfilment, where personal development is as important as technical training.

By combining Japanese tradition and modernity, ASM Aikido perpetuates the heritage of its founding masters and confirms its central role in Monaco's sporting and cultural landscape.
